Mobile Caravan Servicing Across Northern Ireland

Our full caravan service brings together habitation and chassis checks in one appointment. It is the ideal choice for annual maintenance and total peace of mind.

Annual servicing that keeps your touring caravan safe, compliant, and ready for the road

When was your caravan last fully serviced?

Many owners delay caravan servicing because it’s inconvenient to get the van to a workshop. But skipping routine checks, or only doing parts of them, can lead to costly problems down the line. Damp damage. Failing brakes. Unsafe gas or electrical systems. And more often than not, these issues crop up right before a planned trip.

That’s where we come in.

At Thornhill Services, we carry out full, professional caravan servicing on-site, wherever your van is located home, storage yard, or seasonal pitch. Our mobile setup means no workshop visits, no hassle, and no towing required.

Why annual servicing matters

Your caravan is made up of multiple complex systems, all of which need regular inspection and care. A full service combines our habitation check and chassis service into one detailed appointment, giving you total peace of mind and ensuring your van stays safe, functional, and compliant with legal safety requirements.

What’s included in a full service?

We follow the Mobile Caravan Engineers Association (MCEA) checklist, with a few additional checks of our own. Our caravan servicing includes:

  • Damp Check (moisture testing throughout)
  • Habitation Check (appliances, plumbing, electrics, gas)
  • Chassis & Brake Inspection
  • Hitch Lock Condition & Lubrication
  • Gas System & Safety Checks
  • CO & Smoke Alarm Testing
  • 12v and 230v Electrical System Testing
  • Water System (pump, tap flow, leaks)
  • Bodywork & External Seals
  • Fixtures, Fittings & Interior Condition

Professional service. No upsells. No stress.

We don’t advertise low prices just to get the job and then start adding extras. Our pricing is honest and transparent. After a quick call, we’ll give you a quote that reflects the real scope of the work and we stick to it.

So whether your van’s been sitting through winter, or you're heading away for summer, a full service is the best way to catch small issues before they become big ones.

Frequently Asked Questions About Caravan Servicing

Please email us at info@thornhillservices.co.uk or call us on 0782713819 if you cannot find an answer to your question.

  • How much does a full caravan service cost?

The cost of caravan servicing varies depending on the technician and your exact requirements. At Thornhill Services, we don’t publish prices because we’ve found people often compare apples to oranges. We prefer to have a quick conversation first, then offer a clear and fixed quote. Call us on 07827 138193.

  • How often should I get my caravan serviced?

Most manufacturers and insurers recommend a full service every 12 months, especially for touring caravans that are regularly on the move.

  • Do you offer mobile servicing at seasonal pitches?

Yes. Many of our customers are on seasonal sites. We bring everything with us to complete the full service where your caravan sits so no need to move it.

  • Can I have a full service done at home?

Absolutely. We often service caravans parked at home or in storage yards. As long as there’s safe access, we can work on site.

  • How long does a full caravan service take?

A full service usually takes 2 to 3 hours depending on the condition of the caravan and any issues we identify.

  • What happens if you find a problem during the service?

We’ll explain exactly what we’ve found and discuss options with you. If a fix is possible there and then, we’ll let you know the cost before going ahead.

  • Do you service caravans over 20 years old?

No. We specialise in more modern touring caravans. Unfortunately, older vans often come with unexpected issues that make it difficult to provide cost-effective service.
